Recent Technology has allowed homeowners to now have their sewer and pipe replacement without major excavation and without disturbing precious landscaping, parking lots, and concrete surfaces. How is it done? We use the existing damaged sewer line as a conduit and guide for the new pipe. A new pipe attached and is inserted through the old pipe. As the new pipe passes through the existing pipe, it actually pulls in a full size replacement pipe. After installation of the new pipe is in place. We then connect it to the existing system.

Utilizing a sewer dvd camera we are able to locate your sewer line. This camera will identify how your sewer line runs and if there are any problems with the existing line. Locating the sewer line is essential to provide you with an accurate estimate if and when replacing your sewer line.

Realtors often advise clients to inspect sewer laterals of homes they're considering for purchase. In most cases, sewer lines beyond a property's curb line, or proposed curb line, belong to the City. Video inspections of private sewer laterals that extend into the City sewer system and detect pipes that may need maintenance can be useful if the tapes meet City standards. The City monitors and maintains the public sewer system on a regular schedule and repairs sewers on a priority basis. Public sewers that are failing or regularly back up into basements are a top priority. Cracked pipes and minor root intrusions are not considered emergency maintenance problems.

Party Line Sewer Separation
A party line sewer is a private sewer line shared by two or more properties. Party line sewers must be within a recorded private easement and protected by a maintenance agreement between the owners of the properties served by the party line. The City will not approve new party sewer lines or repaired party lines if separate public sewer connections are feasible. A property owner may lose use of a party line sewer if no such legal protections have been recorded, and one or more of the parties decides not to grant an easement or enter into a maintenance agreement. Each property owner would then be required to connect separately to the public sewer.
Sewer Replacements
Sewers have traditionally been replaced by pinpointing the exact location by either using a video sewer camera and or an electronic locator. The damaged pipe is then excavated out and the new line is replaced with ABS or HDPE Pipe.
When replacing sewer lines a permit is required. To purchase or to verify the purchase of a permit you can contact Bureau of Environmental Services in your county. Upon completion of the replacement, a city inspector will approve and finalize the replacement. The site will then be backfilled and area restored to pre- existing condition.
